1. Rich Man
Dressed in purple robe
fine linen
lived in luxury
every day.
may have even claimed to be a relgious man
2. The beggar “Lazarus”
a. Jesus called his won sheep by name ()
We don’t know how old he was
don’t know how long he was a beggar.
b. Covered with sores
c. Longing to eat (what fell to the ground)
d. hanging with dogs.
3. The views of how people saw them were different.
a. It’s good to know the Jesus died for us regardless of how we are seen
4. There were things in these men’s life’s that couldn’t be seen
a. They didn’t know how Lazarus heart was
i. He must have been a humble man.
ii. He must have had some peace
b. They didn’t know how the rich man’s heart was
i. Maybe they didn’t know the emptiness in his heart.
ii. Maybe they didn’t see how he refused to show pity.

Lazarus dies first (not surprising)
a. death can be often a surpise.
b. our bodies can be frail but at the same time show great endurance
c. we don’t read about a funeral
d. we don’t read about a burial of Lazarus.
